Shelley Springs Forward
It was another whirlwind month for i-Cue's diminutive dynamo.
The pace she set in March was frenetic -- even for the woman who has been compared to the Energizer Bunny.
Throughout the month, she just kept going and going and going. Among her key gigs were...
...coaching 25 presenters at a national sales meeting in Dallas.
Some comments:
"Wanted to let you know that there was quite the buzz about you at the end of NTM. As we did our post-mortem on our presentations, people really remarked how we could not have done it without you -- and how different they would have been without your help."
"Everyone talked about increased utilization of Shelley in the future for all we do."
"Again, we are very grateful for all of your time and effort on our behalf. You are truly the best!"
...personalized career coaching with two clients in Cincinnati.
"My career is riding on this. I'm at a make-or-break point, and you have renewed my confidence and my belief in myself."
...one-to-one presentation coaching with an attorney client who is working for change in the political arena.
"Shelley, Thanks to you, I now understand that what works in the courtroom doesn't always work from the podium. It's all about the audience, and each one is different."
...preparing a recently retired corporate executive for his new career as a keynote speaker with the Washington Speaker's Bureau.
"My audiences have such high expectations. I have one hour or less to motivate and wow hundreds of people. The techniques you've taught me - and your insistence on formal rehearsal - have made all the difference."
...and launching a new series of social media initiatives with Time Timer, an ongoing marketing communications client.
"Once again, the i-Cue team has delivered - not only with great content, but with a social media strategy that takes our brand into new markets at a very affordable cost."
As the corporate world emerges from The Great Recession, Shelley is tapping into a pent-up demand for her presentation skills coaching. With budgets squeezed, a number of clients had to suspend coaching in 2008 and 2009. But with budgets restored for 2010, clients are once again investing with Shelley to "hit home runs" at their national and regional events.
Shelley, of course, is thriving on the surging activity. "I advise my clients to take on more than they can handle, then prove they can handle it. In 2010, I'm taking my own advice. And you know what?
I was right!"
Be sure to view: Shelley's on-camera work for the Time Timer, which is featured on this website. On this project, Shelley pulled a Clint Eastwood - producing, directing, and casting herself as the lead in this series of videos. The Time Timer helps businesses, educators, and individuals "make every moment count" in their work and daily life.
